Aims and Objectives
A.K. Ghosh Memorial School is a multipurpose co-educational English medium school recognized by the Govt. of West Bengal and affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education . The school aims at imparting education in its real sense and build perfect and effective citizens for the days to come. The school is specially known for its teacher-student relationship. Besides academics, students are also extensively trained in music, art, games, and other extra-academic faculties. Performances of the students in the said areas are highly recognized .There are several former students of this school , who are noted performers. -The school aims at presenting healthy value oriented human beings to the society.
Brief History of the School with Founded By
The school was started by Late Dr.(Mrs.) Kamala Ghosh, the founder Principal of the school, as a primary school in 1968 in Jodhpur Park. The school was then known as Aunty Edith School. Later, the school was renamed A.K. Ghosh Memorial School in memory of her late husband Sri A.K.Ghosh the founder president of the school, and was shifted to its present premises at Lake Gardens. The first batch of students appeared for Madhymik Pariksha in 1977. Result was excellent. In 1999, the school became a Higher Secondary school. Today, the school is one of the most reputed schools of the city with all the three streams in the H.S. section.
