The Dining Hall traditions have evolved – from the era of formal European seating arrangement, the time of Indian full-service style, and now to the modern, efficient, self-service. With the new Dining Hall, the spic-and-span kitchens have also been modernized. Deep freezers, food processors, ovens, huge grinding devices and other gadgets have not only eased the work of the kitchen staff but have also enhanced the dining experience. The school Dining Hall effortlessly hosts all students in a single turn. The menu is a blend of popular cuisines, combining taste and variety with nutrition and a balanced diet. The highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained. There is a School level Mess Committee, which consists of Student Representatives, Housemasters, Resident Medical Officer, Mess Manager, Bursar, Vice Principal, and the Principal. The committee is responsible for day-to-day Mess activities, ensuring a nutritious diet, and hygiene, and maintaining discipline in the Mess.
Although wholesome meals are served every day, yet the grand Scholars’ and Sports banquet, held in the honour of outstanding scholars and sportsmen, remains the high point of the Dining Hall calendar.
Aside from the main meals, fresh fruits, snacks and milk are served in the forenoon at 11, and after games in the evening.
Outside the Dining Hall, school Cafeteria facing the Oval field, is a favourite hangout on Sundays. The schoolboys feast on a variety of culinary choices, in a setting of animated discussions and fun.

The Scindia School admission process starts with:
Guidelines to the parents for Scindia Aptitude Analysis – 2025-26
a) Scindia Aptitude Analysis (SAA-I) is exclusive to The Scindia School, Fort, Gwalior.
b) Scindia School Aptitude Analysis (SAA-II) is also exclusive to The Scindia School, Fort, Gwalior.
- Student can choose to write either the SAA-I or SAA-II. The SAA-I comprises of Mathematics, English, and Hindi and the SAA-II, Mathematics, English and General Awareness.
- Centres for SAA-I AND SAA II : Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Lucknow & Gwalior
- SAA-I is conducted every year on the fourth Saturday of September for the session commencing July. SAA-II is conducted in January/February every year for the session commencing next July. SAA-I registrations for the centers outside Gwalior are open till 10th September 2024. Students who wish to take SAA-I at The Scindia School, Gwalior can do on the spot registration on the date of assessment. The registration fee for on the spot registration can be paid through a debit or a credit card besides a demand draft in favour of Principal, Scindia School, payable at Gwalior.
- Students shortlisted after the SAA-I & SAA-II are invited to the school for an Interactive Session of games & sports, co-curricular activities and interaction with the Faculty. During this phase the student and his parents actually experience The Scindian Life
- The final result for SAA-I is usually declared by 01st November and for SAA-II by 30th March.
How?
- For students wishing to join The Scindia School, the first step is filling the registration form.
- The filled in Registration Form along with the requisite fee and copy of the birth certificate issued by the local Municipal Corporation, Report Card of previous class and three self-attested passport size photographs of the applicant should be submitted online or sent to the school.
- Payment for non-refundable enrollment: – Rs 25,000 (includes registration charges, assessment fee and prospectus). Registration is valid for any two consecutive assessments.
- For SAA, a registration amount of Rs. 18,500/- is to be paid after the admission is confirmed. For doing the enrolment for SAA, a sum of Rs. 6500/- is to be remitted. For Class XI admission seekers, the applicants have to choose SAA category and pay Rs. 18,500/- irrespective of the date of registration. The assessment for admission to Class XI will be held in the last week of March every year at The Scindia School, Gwalior.
- The registration fee is non-refundable. For the convenience of parents, the school has the following methods of payment – Net banking, Credit Card or by a bank draft drawn in favour of ‘Principal, The Scindia School’, payable at Gwalior.
- Submission of the Aadhar Card copy of the candidate before joining the school is MANDATORY and is applicable for students from all states of India except J & K, Assam, Meghalaya.

Who can Apply?
Admission is granted to classes VI, VII, VIII and IX, for which the applicant should not be more than eleven/twelve/thirteen years of age respectively as on 1st of
January of the year in which the admissions are sought.
Admission may be granted to classes IX and XI to extremely meritorious students, if vacancies are available.

The Scindia School is dotted with 14 full-fledged playing fields spread across its over 160-acre campus. The school provides a matrix of intra- and inter-school sports activities. In the Junior Section, depending upon the season, boys undergo training in all major team games. From Class VIII, the students are encouraged to specialize in a sport, according to their inclination and also based on the suggestions of the expert Coaches for at least one whole year. However, the boys are encouraged to play inter-house tournaments and participate in other sports as well.
In Athletics, and in the Cross-country race, along with the highly competitive sections, the school also has a popular non-competitive section to encourage mass participation. Every student on an average plays two hours of sports every day. An ‘early rise’ fitness programme of scientifically planned set of exercises and yoga keeps the boys ‘healthy and agile’.
Further, the school has a mission that every Scindian must be a swimmer. Traditional Indian games such as Kho-kho and Kabaddi are celebrated at the annual sports gala. The teacher in charge of the event occasionally also introduce Indian fun games such as Pitthhoo, Gilli Danda, or kite flying.
Junior students go for trekking during Camps. They are also trained for rock climbing, jumaring, and rappelling on rocks around the Fort.
The Scindia School, Gwalior In-School Services

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for new admissions in a given academic year based on grades achieved in the Aptitude Assessment and need for financial assistance. The Scholarships offered to the students at the time of admission on a merit cum means basis are as per the following criteria:
85 – 89% marks in the Aptitude Assessment: 40% Scholarship
90% and above marks in the Aptitude Assessment: 50% Scholarship
CATEGORY – B
Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for existing students in a given academic year based on student’s performance scores in Academics, Sports and Co-curricular activities and need for financial assistance.
CATEGORY – C
Purely Merit Based Scholarship for existing students in a given academic year to recognise the meritorious students for their excellent performance irrespective of their financial needs.
All rights to scholarships are reserved with the School Management.
In addition to the scholarships, the School has a professional tie up with NYU Abu Dhabi. Westminster University, UK, offers up to 100% scholarship to one or two students of the school each year. The scholarship includes full fee waiver for the full-time course, free accommodation at the International Student House, an arrival allowance, monthly stipend and flights (to and from Heathrow, at the beginning and end of the course).
