The dining hall of the school is large enough to feed 500 people at a time. It serves nutritious meals to the students and staff. The dining hall committee periodically decides the change in menu, in the presence of student members. The dining hall is advised by the dietician as and when required. The serving of traditional grains like Ragi, Millets on certain occasions has become a hit with both students and staff alike. The dining hall also serves seasonal vegetables grown in the organic farm, managed by the school and also serves fresh milk and dairy products from the school’s dairy, which is again managed by the school authorities.

Dr. Ravindra Kishore Sinha
Chairman
Dr. Ravindra Kishore Sinha graduated in Political Science from Anugrah Narayan College, Patna. He began his career as a journalist. He was a war correspondent during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971, and proved to be a highly successful investigative journalist. He took an active part in the student movement led by Loknayak Jai Prakash Narayan in 1974-75, and went on to write the book "Jan Andolan" based on his experience.
Dr. Sinha, a first generation entrepreneur started Security and Intelligence Services (India) Limited in 1974. Today, SIS Group is recognised as a leader in security and business support services in the Asia Pacific Region with over 2,80,000 permanent employees. By 2023, SIS has grown to 17,603 corporate customers with a business volume in excess of Rs. 11000 crores.
Dr. Sinha founded ‘The Indian Public School’ in Dehradun in 2001. The school is excellent in the field of academics, sports, art & culture ensuring the overall development of personality of a child.
The educational philosophy that inspired Dr. Sinha, the founder-chairman of The Indian Public School, was to provide easy access to parents, who nurture a dream for their wards and ardently wish to educate them in a boarding school, where quality education, firmly rooted in traditional values that have stood the test of time, can fulfill the aspirations of their wards and translated their cherished dreams into reality.
Dr. Sinha has travelled across the globe on lecture tours to attend. conferences and seminars in more than 22 countries including the U.S.A., U.K, Canada, Japan, Germany, Australia, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Switzerland, Singapore, etc.
In the Indian government, he has held positions as the Security Advisor to the Prime Minister, related with security arrangements of CSIR establishments. He has also worked as Advisor to union HRD minister, Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi. During this period, he played an important role in overseeing seven ministries and more than 50 national research laboratories.
In February 2014, Dr. Sinha was elected (unopposed) as a Member of Parliament to the Rajya Sabha. During his term as MP, Dr. Sinha did many public service works. As a former MP, Dr. Sinha continues to contribute in every field through social work. He is also a writer of distinction with publications of 20 books to his credit.
Mr. Piyush Vaishnava
Principal
Mr. Piyush Vaishnava is an alumnus of The Doon School, Dehradun, and St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. He went on to earn his MBA from IMT Ghaziabad. After spending six enriching years in the corporate sector, he discovered his true calling in the field of education and transitioned into school leadership and teaching.
Over the years, Mr. Vaishnava has served in some of the country’s most reputed educational institutions, including The Assam Valley School, Sarala Birla Academy (Bangalore), The Sanskaar Valley School (Bhopal), Sehwag International School (Jhajjar), The Scindia School (Gwalior), and G.D. Goenka World School (Sohna). He also served as the Founder Principal of Sarti International School, Gwalior. Most recently, he was associated with the Podar Education Network, where he successfully led the Chhindwara and Bhopal campuses as Principal for eight years.
With a rich and diverse experience across leading boarding and day schools in India, Mr. Vaishnava brings a balanced perspective, strong administrative acumen, and a deep commitment to student development.
An avid sportsman, he has been a squash coach and has represented Karnataka at the national level. His passion for sports, discipline, and holistic development reflects strongly in his leadership and vision for the school.

The Indian Public School, Dehradun Withdrawal Policy
- If the students is withdrawn or does not join before the start of the academic year i.e. 1st April one term fee shall be forfeited in the favour of school.
- Registration and admission fee shall also be forfeited in favour of the school.
- If the student joins the school and is withdrawn within a month of start of academic year, six months fee shall be forfeited/ charge in the favour of the school.
- If the student has completed one month and is withdrawn, whole year fee shall be forfeited in the favour of the school.

V to X (Old Students)Prize options for students from Grade V to X who stand in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position in their respective classes:
1st Position: Prize money up to Rs. 1, 11,000/- or a Gold Medal.
2nd Position: Prize money of Rs. 51,000/- or a laptop of the same amount.
3rd Position: Cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- or a Tablet of the same amount
The computation of positions for Grades IV to X is based on:
- • 50 percent of marks obtained in the Home Examination.
- • 50 percent of marks obtained in an objective-based Scholarship test
- • The Scholarship test includes questions based on English, Mathematics, and GK
- • This test will be conducted before the close of the Academic Session 2024-25
Grades XI and XII:
- • This special scholarship is available to students of class-X who have appeared for the Board Examination-2024
