Woodstock School has a dedicated Health Centre, run by a professional team of healthcare professionals. During term time, the Health Centre provides round the clock care to our students and other community members. The Health Centre is equipped to deal with many of the ailments and minor injuries that are part and parcel of school life. Specialized equipment includes oxygen concentrators; a non-invasive ventilator (BiPAP machine); an electrocardiogram (ECG); a multiparameter monitor and automated external defibrillators (AEDs). On the rare occasions when admission to hospital for treatment is required, we have worked in partnership with local hospital, Landour Community Hospital, for more than one hundred years. We also have a relationship with Max Hospital in Dehradun, in cases where further treatment is required. See More See Less
Sports at Woodstock are not isolated from other aspects of student life, but incorporated into our holistic curriculum that integrates academics, residence and enrichment activities. School sports include badminton, basketball, cricket, cross-country, football/soccer, swimming, squash, table tennis and volleyball. Weekly PASSAGE activities expose students to even more athletics, including rock climbing and ultimate frisbee. Woodstock takes pride in hosting the annual all-India Win Mumby Basketball Tournament each spring. Students from all over the country converge upon our hillside to participate in four days of competition and collaboration as they compete for the championship. Other sporting events take place throughout the year, including the five-a-side Inter-school Football tournaments for boys, girls and staff members; the student-initiated Goal-a-thon; the Mussoorie Half-Marathon; and our All-school Cross-country Day. It is a stimulus for learning, a way to bring academic subject areas to life while offering physical challenges that promote personal and social growth. Through both academic outdoor learning and extended expeditions, Woodstock students develop lasting relationships with the natural world, while building resilience and leadership. The outdoors is an abundant educational resource that is a highly valued element of the Woodstock experience.Activity Week is exploring frescoes in a thirteenth-century Jain cave, roping up to cross a glacier, rafting the white waters of the upper Ganges, helping village kids prepare for their school’s first-ever sports meet.
