Laidlaw Memorial School and Junior College houses most of its classrooms in the main school building built in 1923. The number of students in each class is purposely kept to an optimum so that teachers can pay individual attention to students. The computer classes are conducted in state of the art computer labs having the latest PCs connected in a Local area network that is also connected to the internet via a broadband link.

The Laidlaw Memorial School and Junior College Library is in existence since the establishment of the school. The Library has variety of books which cater to the needs of the students and staff of all age groups. Prominent national dailies and magazines are also subscribed in the library. The library provides books of interest to promote and cultivate reading habits among students. The library is up-dated and the users are also provided with e-library services.

Catering is supervised by a professional Caterer and Assistant Caterer. The normal meals of breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner are provided in the School refectory, to which is attached a large well equipped kitchen. Every effort is made to provide the children with a balanced diet, which includes meat, fish, chicken, eggs, vegetables and milk. Both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian diet is available from the School kitchen.

The Laidlaw Memorial School and Junior College has a well-equipped clinic, dental clinic and a dispensary. There is a fully qualified Nurse in charge of the Clinic, and the treatment of patients is prescribed by a daily visiting Doctor and visiting Dentist. All cases of serious illness are transferred to the private hospitals in Ootacamund or Coonoor. In case of serious illness or where the school Doctor advises, the parents are contacted by telephone or e-mail, (e.g. if a child needs special dental or eye treatment or has to be given spectacles). All pupils are given a thorough medical examination on admission and thereafter have periodical medical checks at which time their weight and height are recorded. Where a child has been under treatment prior to admission in the school, medicines sent by the parents will be administered, subject to the approval of the school Doctor. A prescription must accompany all medicines sent by parents. No child is permitted to keep medicines and if any, brought by the parents or the children must be handed over to the Nurse in charge of the Clinic.
