Sainik School, Satara Admission Process
1. It is requested to contact the school during Third / Fourth week of August for ascertaining the details of Entrance examination to be conducted in the month of January. Girls are admitted in Class VI only. Boys are admitted in class VI and Class IX only. The eligibility conditions will be as under
(a) VI class – Boys and girls having age more than 10 years and less than 12 years on 31st March in the year in which boy/girl seeking admission in class VI.
(b) IX class - Boys having age more than 13 years and less than 15 years on 31st March in the year in which boy is seeking admission in class IX. The boy should be studying in class VIII in a recognized school while appearing for Sainik School Entrance Examination.
2. It may please be noted that the relaxation in age limit is not permissible under any circumstances.
3. For registration ,there is an online form filling system. The parent has to fill online form through sainikschooladmission.in or www.sainiksatara.org.

1. Scholarships as and when received from the Govt of Maharashtra/Social welfare Dept/ Ministry of Defence will be credited to the cadet’s account.
2. All parents irrespective of income group and category are required to submit fees in advance.
3. An additional charges of Rs. 20,150/- as approved by the LBA will be remitted towards miscellaneous expenditure like dhobi charges, haircut, cinema, extra clothing, extra medicine, games equipment like football shoes, hockey sticks, extra stationary and books, school magazine, school diary, track suits, coupons, canteen items, stitching charges, insurance, CBSE / UPSC charges, hikes/excursions / journey expenditure etc.

Sainik School, Satara was founded through the visionary efforts of Shri Yashwantrao Chavan, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra State. It was inaugurated by the Defence Minister of India, Shri V K Krishna Menon on 23 Jun 1961. It was the first Sainik School amongst a chain of 33 such schools established in the country with the aim of preparing boys academically, mentally and physically for entry into the National Defence Academy and other Defence Academies, who hail from financially weaker sections of the society and thereby removing the regional imbalance for such entries in the Armed Forces. School provides public school education to the children and the pattern of this School has been moulded scrupulously in such a way that the cadets studying herein acquire confidence leading to self dependence, accommodating nature, high esteem and respect for the views of others, secular approach and an incessant longing for maintaining sound mind in sound body which would ultimately make them successful in any walks of life.
