Sainik Schools started admitting girls into Class 9 again from 2024-25. In the 33 old Sainik Schools, the number of Sainik School seats for girls is very limited. Most schools give only 1 to 3 seats for girls in the home state and the same few seats in the other-state category. For instance, Sainik School Amaravathinagar has only 1 seat for home-state girls and no seats for other states, while Sainik School Kapurthala has a total of 2 seats for home-state and 3 other-state seats, across all categories.
