Inspired by his commitment to education and holistic development, our school is proud to be a part of the CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) congregation.
The CMI congregation has established a significant number of schools across the country, all dedicated to the same ideals of excellence and service. Currently, there are over 500 educational institutions under the CMI umbrella, each striving to uphold the highest standards of education and moral values. We are also proud to note that the education department has included St. Chavara and his contributions to society in the Class 7 textbook, highlighting the enduring impact of his work.

The Kuriakose Elias Group of Educational Institutions were established in the year 1991, situated at the eastern side of the hillock of Mannanam, Kottayam. Mannanam is the Holy place, where St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara started the CMI Congregation and his first Sanskrit school. The schools are named after this great luminary of the 19th century Kerala and managed by the CMI St. Joseph's Province, Thiruvananthapuram.
Kuriakose Elias School, was started on July 16, 1991 is an unaided English Medium School, is recognized by the Government of Kerala, with the U P and High School sections. In June 1995, Kindergarten Section and Day Care Center was added to the School. The ICSE syllabus was introduced in the year 2000. The ICSE Board approved the new school and so it got affiliated to the ICSE in February 2002. The ICSE school eventually became permanently affiliated to the ICSE Board, Delhi, with the Higher Secondary Section (ISC). In July 2002, the recognized State Syllabus was upgraded to a Higher Secondary School with courses in Science, Commerce and Computer Science.
