The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award draws together many aspects of our co-curricular programme in a single award, which Middle and Senior School students can work towards at bronze, silver or gold level. This well-known international scheme requires young people to learn a skill, undertake a physical recreation, carry out a service and complete an expedition. All International Harrovians at Harrow Bengaluru are encouraged to take on the challenge of the award, which helps them to build resilience, perseverance and fortitude. For many International Harrovians, the award might involve them in developing a musical or artistic talent, joining a sports club, volunteering in an enterprise helping other members of the Bengaluru community, and joining a challenging outdoor education trip away from school. In the process, they develop new talents, enjoy being part of a team and helping others, and build their own self confidence in the light of their experiences and successes.

Harrow International School is committed to providing exceptional opportunities for highly talented students. To support this, the school has developed a scholarship programme designed to offer scholarships to deserving candidates. These scholarships may be awarded for academic excellence or for all-round achievement, which includes strong academic performance coupled with excellence in co-curricular activities and/or character.

Academic and All-Rounder Scholarships: Eligibility & Details
Academic Scholarships are available for the following grade levels:
- Grade 9 – Age 14 on entry Grade 11 – Age 16 on entry
All-Rounder Scholarships are awarded at the following academic levels:
- Grade 6 – Age 11 on entry
- Grade 8 – Age 13 on entry
- Grade 9 – Age 14 on entry
- Grade 11 – Age 16 on entry
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
- Students applying for admission in August 2025 may submit applications for the scholarship program.
- Those receiving All-Rounder Scholarships will demonstrate excellence in both academia and an extra-curricular activity (including sport, music or drama).
- Current Harrow students are eligible solely for Honorary Scholarships.
Award Process
- Scholarships are awarded through open competition at the levels set by the institution and are non-negotiable.
- All scholarships are granted at the discretion of the Head of School.
- The number of scholarships may vary annually based on the quality of applicants.
Steps for Availing Scholarships
- Complete the Regular Application Process
- Submit the online application form Pay Rs. 12,000/-
- Complete the Harrow Test online and Interview with the Head Master
- Apply for Scholarship - Submit an intent for scholarship through the Scholarship Application (in Stage 5)
- Attend a written scholarship assessment based on English and Math, in person (for all Bengaluru candidates) or online (for outstation candidates)
- Submit, to the Harrow Bengaluru Admissions office, academic scores and reports from the past two years, as well as certifications for extraordinary talent, prizes or competition successes.
- Attend an interview with the Scholarship Committee and Head Master.
- Results will be announced via email two weeks after the scholarship test
Key Dates
- Last date for applications: 31 January 2025
- Scholarship exam date (on-campus for Bengaluru and outstation candidates): Monday 6 February 2025 at 10AM
- Ongoing Evaluation Scholarships are subject to termly performance evaluations to ensure that recipients meet the standards expected of them.
- Scholarships may be rescinded if the student fails to maintain the required criteria.
