The Bharathi Vidya Bhavan, the epitome of learning, the icon of Erode, is located near Thindal Murugan temple, Erode. While the city of Erode was filled with fragrance of turmeric, BVB was constituted in 1978 in order to quench the people’s thirst of knowledge. The beginning of BVB commenced in 1978 under a thatched shed and now our Bharathians reside every where around the globe ornamenting several colourful feathers in the cap of Bharathi Vidya Bhavan. The founder Late Thiru S.K.Ramasamy Gounder, Late Thiru S.P.Subbaraya Gounder, Late Thiru L.K.Muthusamy Gounder , Late Thiru K.S.Periasamy Gounder and Late Thiru V.S.Ramalinga Gounder embarked on this project and this diligent venture was inaugurated by Bharat Ratna Late Sri C.Subramaniam and by Late Sri Avanashilingam Chettiar. The sapling has been nurtured well by our Secretary and Correspondent Dr.L.M.Ramakrishnan M.B.B.S,D.L.O and by our President Mrs.Aruna Ramakrishanan and with our other committee members. From the day of inception, B.V.B children have been enjoying schooling. Our Bharathians fulfil the motto of our school –“Creative Thought and Action ”. Teaching faculty are experienced not only with immense knowledge but also with the humanity, commitment and dedication. Besides getting number of state and district ranks, we set a core of values-Exemplary discipline, Academic excellence, Personality development, Environmental consciousness, Voluntary services, outstanding performance in and out of class activities. There are separate laboratory facilities for each subject in each level to facilitate students learning. Cambridge ESOL (BEC and KET), NEET, CPT classes are conducted in order to enhance professional training. Students are motivated to join NCC-Navy, NCC-Military, Scouts and Guides, Red cross in order to organise team work. Career Guidance programme helps the student of IX to XII level to choose their right career, The course Art of Living training nurtures each and every Bharathian. Field trip and trekking rejuvenate the students. Hostel is the second home for hostelers. It provides wealth of experience. Students are provided with healthy and sumptuous food. Staying in the hostel helps the students not only to gain knowledge but also socialize with peers. They are encouraged to use the gymnasium, playground and all the indoor gaming facilities. Several dignitaries like Swami Satchitananda, Former President Sri R.Venkataraman, Former Vice President Sri K.R.Narayanan, Former Vice Chancellor Mr.V.C.Kulandai Swamy of Anna University, Former Election commissioner Mr.T.N.Seshan and Mr.Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, Sports star Krishnamachari Srikanth, SriSri RaviShankar Guruji and many VIPs by their illumined presence, created a memorable moment in the life of every Bharathians, raising everything from ordinary to extraordinary, offering a glimpse of principled adulthood to impressionable young minds, much to emulate in their long journey of life. Over years, BVB has undergone many changes but some things have remained the same. We have always been known as happy school and Bharathi Vidya Bhavan has always earned a good reputation and still continues its progress.
