Every year our school holds the Annual Sports Day between January and February with great zeal and zest. Generally, a month of preparation precedes the day and
is eagerly awaited by students and teachers alike. The program commences with the Lighting of the Flame and a bunch of balloons being flown. Next, the participants along with the head prefect conduct the Oath Taking Ceremony which is followed by the most spectacular event of the day, the colorful March Past, represented by different houses led by the house captains and the vice-captains. Then, a musical drill is presented by the Primary section students. Finally, the various events begin, namely, Flat race, Hurdle race and Sack race for the Senior students with Frog race and Sum race for the Juniors. Teachers of our school also participate in this grand event. There is a Tug-of-war between the students and the teachers and the Spoon and Marble race exclusively for the lady teachers. Lastly, the prize distribution ceremony is held wherein prizes are given to the First, Second and Third winners of each event. There is a prize for the Best Sportsman from each section, Primary, Secondary, and Higher Secondary as well. A note of thanks by the Principal of our school wraps up the grand event. Annual day is one of the important days for school and college students and authorities. On an annual day, schools or colleges celebrate their school’s or college’s success by gathering together. They share student’s, teacher’s and the staff’s achievements for the last year. Generally, this celebration includes cultural programs like dance and singing performance. Schools or colleges invite the eminent chief guests from administrative fraternity-like trustees or local politician from education ministry or from local government bodies.
