Shantiniketan Vidyalaya is a co-educational C.B.S.E. English medium, residential school. The school has been established to impart quality education and to develop a comprehensive personality in the children. The purpose of education is the development of a totally integrated personality with positive, creative and responsive qualities. To quote Swami Vivekananda, we want that education by which character is formed, strength of mind is increased, the intellect is expanded, and by which one can stand on one’s own feet. At Shantiniketan Vidyalaya, our intention will always be to translate Swami Vivekananda’s vision into a reality. The motto of the school, Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye means “That is True Education, which Liberates”. The students of Shantiniketan come to us from all the states of India and abroad. So we have a cosmopolitan student community.The school has grown from strength to strength in numbers and infrastructure, quality of teaching, academic results and co-curricular achievements. Number of Students The growth of the school in numbers has been phenomenal. Academics In 1999 the school started Classes I – VI. In March 2003, the first batch of 28 Class X students appeared for the AISSE conducted by CBSE. All the pass out batches results percentage was 100. The results of March-2016 with 129 students was also appreciable with 25 A1 Grade. Our students also participate in Olympiads, NTSE and National Child Science Congress at National level. We have Society for Promotion of Academics Excellence in Schools programme under the guidance of Dr. Chukka Ramaiah, President of SPAES. Student Profile The students of Shantiniketan Vidyalaya come from all streams of the society. At one of the best boarding schools in Hyderabad, we have students from all parts of the country, viz., Maharashtra, Karnataka, West Bengal, Bihar, Gujarat, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh,Manipur,Assam. We also have many NRI children. Co-curricular Activities The School has come a long way in this area. The first Annual Day was an ambitious one with 17 students entertaining an audience of 700 for two hours. Today, the School has won several prizes in inter School competitions especially in Group Dance, Karate (Martial Arts) Yoga, Essay writing, Flower arrangement and Singing. Inter House competitions are conducted in Dance, Music, Elocution, Science Exhibition, Recitation, Quiz, Flower arrangement, Rangoli, Volley ball, Basket Ball, Football, Hockey, Cricket, Cross country running, Athletics etc. Our children participated in state level and won many medals in the various discipline. Staff Over the years the school has evolved a team of qualified and dedicated staff, committed to the task of creating a home away from home in which students can pursue excellence at their own pace and in areas of their own choice. All members of the teaching staff are trained and many of them are post graduates. They have rich experience in their respective subjects. Orientation Programmes are organised by the school for the benefit of both the staff and the students. There are three P.E.Ts who also work as wardens. The principal oversees the general discipline and administration of the school. The majority of the Teaching Staff live on the Campus.
