Set up by the well-known KLE Society of Karnataka, the school recognizes the need for quality education for the children who are growing up to face an increasingly competitive world. KLE Society runs about 290  educational institutions including well known-medical and engineering colleges around the country. This is one of the largest networks of institutions for higher studies and technical education in India. KLE completed 100 years of its service in 2016.

With the strong backing and expertise from the parent body, Basava has taken the route of innovation and out-of-the-box approach to school education.

The teaching methods and programs have been reworked in this institution keeping in mind the need of the children from homes where both parents are working. It’s a holistic approach – pupils learn, solve their problems in the classroom and move forward. They go home knowing that learning is fun, that it’s a collective exercise.

The school has an ideal student-teacher ratio of 15:1. Concepts are explained through audio-visual techniques and other innovative methods. Classrooms are equipped with interactive smart boards. Encouragement to project method and experimentation make the learning process more exciting.
ICT is an integral part of teaching-learning. Children take care of their health through regular morning exercises, swimming and sports activities on a sprawling school ground and generate social awareness through debates, exhibitions, symposia, camps and social outreach programs. Cultural programs and co-curricular activities are organized by various Houses and Clubs. In short, the 21st Century goals of learning are strongly pursued in this school.
Basava has done extremely well in CBSE Board Examinations with students earning merit certificates at higher secondary level and scoring full CGPA at class X level. Its students take part in international programs. Academicians and environmentalists from other countries regularly visit the school.
It also won the zonal basketball championship this year. Students from this school have been playing cricket for the states of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
The school’s Environment Club is involved in the US-sponsored Globe Program. The school encourages its children to reach out to the underprivileged through planned and organized activities and the Interact Club works in coordination with various NGOs.
