West Bengal Schools to Reopen from Feb 7

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced the reopening of educational institutions in the state from February 7.

School for classes 8-12 will reopen, along with colleges, universities, and varsities.

“We will decide on reopening primary schools later”, she further added.
Classes will also be held in neighborhoods under the new Paray Shikshalaya program for classes 5 to 7, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee announced.

“The COVID-19 situation in the state has improved”, Banerjee cited as the reason to reopen schools. Other curbs in the state have also been relaxed as West Bengal slowly returns to normalcy.
