Yesterday, DU released its first cut-off for admissions in UG courses. Lady Shri Ram College for Women set a new record. LSR decided on 100% cut-off for three courses and at least 99% for 30 other courses.

The Hindu College set the highest cut-off- 99% for BA(Hons) Political Sciences in 2019. However, this year LSR fixed a 100% cut-off for admissions in BA(Hons) in Political Science, Psychology, and Economics. LSR College Principal, Suman Sharma shared that never in the history of the college had the cut-off touched 100% peak. She also stated the reason for the peak. The cut-offs are decided on the basis of an analysis of the profile and data of applicants and a limited number of seats.

DU Dean, Shobha Bagai also agreed that no college in DU had ever set cut-off as 100% for three subjects, as per her knowledge. LSR has cut-off above 99% in 10 programmes. Last year, LSR and other colleges had to deal with over-admissions. More students qualified for admissions than the available seats. Political Science emerged as the most popular course among Humanities and Social Sciences.
