As a young man, Kanhaiyalal Maneklal Munshi was imbued with a sense of Indian’s greatness. Not yet out of his teens, he learned from his mother’s songs and stories about the sages and seers of India’s past. The heritage that these master-spirits represented was ingrained in the young Munshi deeply; and later this incipient perception received an adult dimension.

Founder
Brig, M K Rao is the founding father of Bhavans Sri Ramakrishna Vidyalaya.
In 1975, on the request of Brig MK Rao, then a retired EME Officer of the Army, Bhoodan Yagna Board donated 2 acres of land to the then Ramakrishna Seva Samithi to construct a hospital and a school. Brig M K Rao’s efforts focused on improving infrastructure, education, and services for defence personnel and their families residing in Secunderabad.
Brigadier M K Rao was born on 14 Sep 1914. He did his early schooling in erstwhile Madras Presidency, moving from place to place along with his father who worked in PWD under the British Administration.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan is an Indian educational trust. It was founded by Kulapati Dr. K. M. Munshi on November 7, 1938 with the support of Mahatma Gandhi. The founding members of the Bhavan included Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Shri C Rajagopalachari, Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhai Patel, several distinguished scholars, Statesmen and leaders of Modern Indian Renaissance.
Bhavan tries to promote education, literature, culture, science, human values andinter- faith harmony for all around human development. Bhavan’s Sri Ramkrishna Vidyalaya, a pioneer institution in the twin cities was founded by Brig (Retd.) M.K.Rao. With grants from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, the Navy, the Army, a few generous donors and twenty-five acres of land donated by state Government.
