Concentration is a tricky space for our mind to be in. Focusing our concentration is not always easy with so many distractions around us.

Even if we do concentrate on something, the threshold of our concentration might be broken by some minor changes in the environment around us. All of this gets trickier to be dealt with by a child.

As the pandemic has yet again confined us all to our homes, the teaching style has undergone a notable change in the online scenario. Schools have shifted online, making it all the more difficult for the kids to concentrate on their studies.

Ways to improve memory power:

According to the research conducted by the University of Illinois, a 20 minutes exercise or walk can help in improving your memory power. It also helps in improving your performance during exams. So, start doing workouts on a daily basis to boost your memory and to keep stress at the bay as well.

Practice to read loudly while studying

This may sound a little weird but that’s how it works when it comes to improving memory power. The next time when you try to memorize something, make sure to read it loud and repeat it for 3 or 4 times. Once you have done that, try to write it down. It will surely help you to boost your memory. However, don’t try this when you are studying at a library or classroom.

Discuss the topic that you have learned

Once you have learned a respective topic, start discussing it with your friends. This will help you to revise the subject and memorize it for a longer period of time without even putting an effort to study it again. Discussing a topic lets your brain to store the information and hence you tend to remember it for a longer period. This is one cool way to boost your memory power. Try it from now onwards.

Visualize, draw and learn to boost your memory

If you are finding it difficult to memorize something, try to imagine the scenario, and draw it on a paper as per your understanding. This will help you to learn and memorize the topic quickly. Your brain is more receptive to visual and images, therefore, you will be able to learn a particular topic by drawing a rough sketch of it. This works perfect with Mathematics and Science subjects.

1. Eat Less Added Sugar
Eating too much added sugar has been linked to many health issues and chronic diseases, including cognitive decline.

Research has shown that a sugar-laden diet can lead to poor memory and reduced brain volume, particularly in the area of the brain that stores short-term memory

For example, one study of more than 4,000 people found that those with a higher intake of sugary beverages like soda had lower total brain volumes and poorer memories on average compared to people who consumed less sugar

Cutting back on sugar not only helps your memory but also improves your overall health.
