Technology is shaping our world, and one of the ways it is doing so is by altering the way we read or learn. People spend most of their time on their gadgets, be it a computer, or laptops, or smartphones. They are multifunctional as people are able to work, browse, search or play games.
In this digital era, students are already familiar with using technology and the internet from a younger age. And so, their way of consuming information has also changed everything is quickly becoming digitalised and is tailored to this new and therefore the concept of being able to learn from their laptops or smartphones is perceived as a more appealing method of educating themselves.
“A child cannot focus fully in class and a single teacher also cannot give full attention to all students. So taking tuition is important for now because it gives a child gets separate attention.” says Meenakshi Chuttani, mother of a 9-year-old.
Kant, father of a 3-year-old also shares his thoughts “Online learning, is not only much cheaper but children also get the time crunch for everything at the last minute. At the same time they get different opinions for their question from different people. It’s a very easy way to learn.”
Over the period of a few years, India has witnessed a rapid growth in the online education learning sector. Traditional classroom teaching methods is slowing transforming into educational learning platforms. Many students and working professionals refer to different e-learning/ online educational platforms in to enhance their or learn new skills.
“Nowadays it is uncommon to see almost ninety percent of school children starting from Nursery onwards goes for tuitions. Tuitions do not necessarily increase one’s intelligence and calibre but it does provide parents a bit of time for themselves and also allows them to approach the children tutors if their children are facing with academic difficulties.” - says,
Although it may disrupt the traditional education system, we can say without a doubt that E-learning is currently thriving and reaching new milestones. This method of education means that students can access information from wherever they are and also ensures that resources are always available. Parents, too, are thus gradually leaning toward accessing online tuitions for their children and are often in search of reliable science or math tutors for kids.
Gopal Jha, father of a 4-year-old says “In online tuition provides learning through games. It’s very colourful and they get one common platform for discussion which is not a provided facilities offline.”
Online learning not only caters to students but also working professionals as it allows them to simultaneously study and work without either being affected.
It is also much affordable than traditional tuitions or programmes and allows flexibility of time which is one of the many reasons why students lean more towards E-learning than traditional education.
For the younger generation of students the shift to a newer, more exciting, more interactive way of learning is a welcome change. So, go on and let your kid watch that crash course video on statistics or biological molecules. They might understand and learn from it much more than you think.
