The schools in the summer zone of  Jammu region will be reopening for class 9th -12th standard students from Feb 1, over  10 months after remaining closed due to the nationwide lockdown for Coronavirus pandemic. The official statement declared on Friday by the Education Department Secretary BK Singh. 

It says that all the government and government-aided educational institutions besides including the recognized private schools shall be physically reopened in a staggered manner for academic activities following the prescribed schedule. Singh said that schools will reopen for class 9, 10,11 and 12 th students. He added that the schools are supposed to strictly adhere to Covid -19 Standard Operation Procedures ( SOPs ) at their premises. 

It is said that in the case of elementary classes, teachers will attend schools from February 1 while students will physically attend classes from February 8. The order also further mentions that schools in the Kashmir division and winter zone areas of Jammu division will remain close as of now and shall reopen according to their respective schedule.
