Faridabad, Charkhi Dadri and Nuh lead in enrolments at government schools

GURUGRAM: Even as the admission procedure in state-run schools across Haryana received a tepid response in April, registrations have picked up in the past few weeks. Government schools in the state have seen an 8% rise in enrolments in 2021, according to a report compiled by the directorate of school education. Faridabad and Charkhi Dadri, with an increase of 12% in enrolments, and Nuh (9%) have led the show so far. The data (until July 2) shows overall admission numbers see a bump after the education department urged the government to spread the window for admissions. A district-wise comparison of the data reveals that the increase in enrolment in
Gurugram was recorded a rise of around 7% while Nuh, which has the highest number of students going to government schools in the state, saw an over 9% increase in enrolments. In terms of absolute numbers, Nuh logged the most enrolments with state-run schools in the district adding over 17,000 new students this year. Districts like Rewari (2%), Mahendragarh (4%), Sirsa (4%) and Rohtak
 (4%) saw the least increase in the enrolment count of students. “We have added around 1.6 lakh new students in the state-run schools across Haryana.
