Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Union Education Minister shared his views on one of NEP's most controversial provisions of using mother tongue as the medium of instruction.
He shared that researchers and educationists tell us that the maximum ability to acquire languages is between three to six years of age. Similar results have been shown by his committee. Further, parents are happy that their children will study in their mother tongue. The mother tongue is the best language to express oneself.

He also said, there are misunderstandings; they are not against English but they want to strengthen the 22 languages present in the 8th schedule of our constitution.
