Delhi Schools to open for classes 6-12 from next Monday

Schools in Delhi NCR have finally been instructed by the Commission of Air Quality Management to call back students of classes 6 to 12 from next Monday while students of classes up to 5 can return to campuses from December 27. The order was issued on the basis of a previous directive by the same organisation which said that schools and other educational institutes could start reopening in a phased manner.

On the 3rd of December , schools in Delhi NCR had been asked to shut down campuses because of severe pollution levels . Several private schools in the city had anyway started to defy the government order on keeping campuses shut. They had been calling students for physical classes , arguing why schools had been asked to shut when almost all public facilities were running at full capacity.

Parents , meanwhile, have backed the move, saying prolonged online classes were having a negative impact on the mental and physical well-being of their children. However, with the recent surge in cases related to the Omicron variant, school authorities are a little anxious that some parents may not readily agree to send their children to schools.
