Wheat Flour Veggie Pockets

Wheat flour (atta) is a staple food in India. It is a primary ingredient and commonly used to make many dishes like roti, paratha, and sheera. Chapati which is made from wheat flour is consumed almost with every dish in India.

Wheat flour has many health benefits like :

  • Controls carbohydrate metabolism.
  • It provides energy and develops red blood cells. 

 

INGREDIENT

Wheat flour 250 g
Onion  2 (chopped)
Spinach  200 g (chopped)
Potato  1 (medium-size, boiled)
Green Chillies 1
Cumin seeds 1 tsp
Salt As per taste
Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp
Turmeric ½ tsp
Coriander Powder ½ tbsp
Garam Masala 1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder 1 tbsp
Dry Mango Powder 1 tbsp
Red Chilli Sauce 1 tbsp

 

Method

  1. Take wheat flour, add 1/4 tsp salt and 1 tsp oil. Add water as required & make a soft dough. Rest the dough for 5 mins.
  2. Next, you need to make the filling. Heat a pan and pour 1 tbsp oil and add cumin seed, green chilli (chopped),  chopped onion and fry till you get a golden colour.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and mix. Next, add spinach (chopped) and salt as per requirement.
  4. Add mashed or diced boiled potato to the above mixture and cook for a few minutes. You can also add other veggies like tomatoes, beans, cauliflower, etc. Now, add turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, red chilli powder, dry mango powder, red chilli sauce. Cook the mixture for 2 minutes, then transfer it into a bowl and let it cool.
  5. Take small rolls of dough and stretch it with the help of fingers. Fill the paste in the rolls and seal it properly. 
  6. Heat a pan, add 2 tbsp oil and fry the sealed pockets on both sides until golden brown on low flame.

 

Your wheat flour veggie pockets are ready! Serve hot with ketchup or mayonnaise dip.
