Primary School: Grades Pre-Nursery to Grade 5
Admissions to Primary school are based on personal interaction with the admission team, the Primary School Principal and the Head of School. No formal written assessments are taken for admission to Primary school.
Secondary School:
Students seeking admission in Grades 6/7/8/9 (MYP 1/2/3/4):
All students seeking admission to DPSI will take placement assessments in Mathematics and English followed by an interaction with the Secondary School Principal who notes her / his anecdotal comments on the admission sheet. They also meet with the Head of School for the final interaction and decision on admission.
The learners select their preferred additional language (language acquisition) followed by a benchmarking assessment to place them at various phases. The students seeking admission in MYP 2 and 3 (Grade 6 and 7) are expected to have studied the selected language for at least one year in their previous school and for students seeking admission in MYP 3 and 4 (Grade 8 and 9) the selected language should have been studied for at least two years in their previous school.
OR
The parents should sign an undertaking that they will support their ward with additional help in the selected language to bring the level of the child to the average class/grade standard.
Students seeking admission in Grades 11 and 12 (IB DP 1 – IB DP 2):
Admission will be a three-tier process
- Last two years result along with a Character Certificate from the previous school
- Placement assessment in Math, English and a Psychometric Test.
- There will be an interaction for shortlisted students along with their parents with Secondary School Principal/DP coordinator/Career Counsellor
- Overseas students will have the assessment done by special arrangement. A telephonic /Skype or telephonic interaction will be conducted for shortlisted applicants after the written assessment.
Language acquisition and subject levels will be decided based on specific assessments which will be administered as per the student’s declared level of proficiency(HL, SL, ab initio/studies ).
In Grade 12( DP 2) only transferring IB Diploma Students are admitted.

'Do not confine your children to your own learning, for they have been born in another time,' goes a Hebrew saying. In a globalised world, where boundaries are fast blurring, how do we give our children education that is relevant, responsive and responsible? With this thought, we started off as a genuine quest to give young minds an education that goes beyond the confines of classroom walls and prepares them to find their place in a fast changing world. We searched and researched, found out what the education process in the country was and how it should be. After much deliberation, study of the humane pedagogical process and examining the various educational institutes in the country and abroad, we affirmed that it was time for a transformation in education, for a new wave in education. And thus was born DPS International, Gurgaon.
Why DPS International? Because cutting-edge education is the need of the hour. A symbol of new generation schooling, DPS International is not just about imparting knowledge but also about training young minds to process this knowledge for the betterment of their own self, their environment and the community they are a part of. Why an international school? International schools come in different shapes and sizes! But what does 'being international' truly mean? Our belief is that an international school is the one which brings the world to the eager classrooms and also extends the classrooms to the world… a school that preserves the best in traditional education and culture while giving children a winning exposure that fires ambitions and abilities in a pluralistic world. At least this is the approach that we have in DPS International. Our community of educators and students from diverse cultures and nations reaffirm this very approach.
The other aspect that is ingrained in the very fabric of education at DPS International is strong human values. We believe education forges an understanding of a rare kind – understanding across cultures and languages, across social chasms, and across time and space. This should help children grow to be compassionate, sensitive, socially responsible beings. After all, these are the traits that make the world livable.
