Established in 1966 by the Delhi Telugu Society at RK Puram Sector 2, New Delhi, the school once flourished, earning recognition from the Directorate of Education in 1979 and securing Grant-in-aid in 1988. However, by 2015, it faced a crisis—student enrolment had plummeted to just 114, and the management struggled to meet educational needs.
Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the Telugu School Society decided in 2014-15 to merge the institution with the Andhra Education Society (AES), a move driven by a commitment to reviving academic excellence for the Telugu community in Delhi. In 2015, AES took over and transformed the school, not only modernizing its infrastructure but also reinforcing Telugu language and cultural preservation.
AES demonstrated its dedication through substantial investments—crores poured into cutting-edge infrastructure and lakhs allocated annually for maintenance. The results were extraordinary: enrolment surged to 1200 students, and by 2025, the middle school evolved into a senior secondary institution. Today, all AES branches proudly stand as senior secondary schools in New Delhi.
This remarkable transformation highlights the power of visionary leadership. AES’s adherence to the ideals of its founder, Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh, underscores how effective governance can uplift educational institutions. The Telugu Senior Secondary School’s resurgence serves as a testament to how strategic management can shape young minds, proving that strong leadership is the backbone of a thriving academic environment.
