Minority Affairs Minister, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, has stated on Tuesday that the Ministry of Education has planned to construct 99 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in backward and minority communities concentration areas of the country. 

The joint effort of Minority Affairs Minister, Mr. Naqvi and Education Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal “Nishank” laid the foundation stone for a new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Pakur, Jharkhand. Another four are being constructed at Uttar Dinajpur and Howrah in West Bengal; Mamit in Manipur; and West Kamang in Arunachal Pradesh.

It is set to be a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government-led 6-year long plan for socio-economic, educational, and employment-oriented development,  for which more than 34,000 infrastructure projects including schools, colleges, hospital, community centers, ITI polytechnics, hostels, etc. have been developed in 308 districts of the country for the minority section.
