Upasana Academy

Upasana Academy was founded by Dr Ruhul Amin Chowdhury and Dr Chandana Das in the year 2004 in Roypur, Maheshtala. Being doctors by profession, and practising medicine in this area for more than 25 years, both of them realised early on that quality education was the only way to improve the social and cultural fabric of society. With this goal in mind, and with an aspiration to give something back to the society, the school started its journey with just four students. Today it has over 800 students.

Spread over a lush green area of 1.51 acres, the school provides an ideal, pollution free environment for the children.

The main school building which has a built up area of 32,000 sq feet, has well ventilated, spacious classrooms along with well equipped laboratories (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer, Maths, Social Science) and a fully furnished library.

The campus also has a large playground.

The school’s aim is to provide an ambience to help the children enhance their analytical and social capabilities, while building their value system.

• To provide the skills that would enable individuals to participate and further the growth of the society.

• To provide self-analytical and social skills so that the children grow to be complete individuals in every sense of the word.

• To expose children to the values implicit within human rights, democratic principles, intercultural understanding and respect and peace at all levels of society and human relationships.
