Furthermore, Curiosity finds a place in the aspects of human development since it produces a feeling of learning to thrive in the minds of individuals.
We, human beings are a distinct creation brought unto this planet, the evolution that took place billions of years ago started with the first man-like creature’s curiosity that led to the creation of fire and its discovery. Ever since, new ideas and discoveries were made because man was curious about the strange yet simple phenomenon that took place around his life. It has been curiosity that allowed for new ideologies, inventions and discoveries to be made and brought about into this world. Hence, with this brief introduction, we shall discuss further the necessity for curiosity to be integrated mindfully into children.
As we have all seen, children are curious about every new thing that happens around them. This feeling is not induced in them or introduced to them; it is an absolute construct that every human individual is bound to feel when they are young. Children question the veracity of the phenomenon that occurred right in front of their eyes, some might feel that this constant questioning is not fruitful and outright tiresome, but that is a wrong impression.
Children should be given the freedom to question, for it will actively enhance their eagerness to learn. “Curiosity is not a sin,” when children learn simple yet new concepts right from a young age, this helps improve their creative and imaginative skills because their curiosity is being answered. As we all know that curiosity fuels the brain’s imaginative aspect, so it can be expected that the creative and inventive aspects of a child are enhanced mindfully. Therefore, to bring about fruitful development in the minds of individuals, allow for curiosity to thrive right from a young age of their life.
Curiosity brings about numerous advantages in the development of an individual. This keen interest to dive into a concept and learn all that is necessary is what sets the prime example of curiosity. Children go to school and the school’s main purpose is to impart knowledge and teach essential morals and values. When a curious child ventures to school and his/her interest inspires them to learn about what they are going to be taught; this leads to an absolute and complete understanding on the part of the child for a mindset to learn increases tenfold and they understand better.
Now, this also becomes the responsibility of the school to introduce teaching and learning methodologies so as to trigger the curious side of the students; this way it leads to an enthusiastic learning environment and the productivity that occurs brings about meaningful development for the students and the teachers too.
Curiosity prepares the brain for learning and makes subsequent learning more enjoyable and rewarding. At this point, we can point out that curiosity plays a vital role in education. Students would often enjoy learning with what sparks their interest but in a more lively sense, educational institutes could make this interest consistent by introducing new learning approaches in their curriculum.
