ISRO had conducted an all-India Cyberspace Essay Writing (Hindi) Competition. Two students from Delhi Government School ranked among the top 10 students. Varun Kumar Verma of RPVV placed third. While Manisha Raikawar placed seventh in the competition.
Deputy CM and Minister of Education of the Delhi Government, Manish Sisodia met the two students on Friday. Varun told Sisodia that he aspires to be a scientist. While Manisha said that she wanted to be an IAS officer.
In a press conference, Sisodia said that the Government needs to organize more of such events to promote participation in science among students. He addressed that India should aspire to have world-class events where students from all around the world can participate. It will encourage scientific temper among the students. He also assured that the Delhi Government will continue to work towards this goal. The Delhi Government will organize such all-India events in the future.
