The Delhi High Court, addressing the several petitions that were filed for the introduction of a system for students of class 10th and 12th for changing the name, surname in mark sheets and certificates, has suggested the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for the same.
The bench comprising of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan has asked the CBSE counsel to provide a space in their forms; at the corner or bottom of the certificates, which would allow students to make whatever changes they want for the information they have furnished.

The bench has also stated that the Board is not the one certifying someone’s identity but has to base it on the information given by the students. And so it should be changeable. Though the matter has been put for hearing on November 20 someone has yet to appear on behalf of the students.
