GEMS Modern Academy, Gurugram initiated a plantation drive to commemorate the 75th Independence Day. After unfurling the flag, the students and teachers initiated a plantation drive at the school and in the vicinity of the school.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Neeti Bhalla Saini, Executive Principal, GEMS Modern Academy, Gurgaon said “To ensure a cleaner environment, we decided to act upon a marvelous suggestion by one of our student, to mark the 75th Independence day by planting saplings in and around the campus. We have taken up indigenous plants for a more sustained and greener campus and locality. We hope to continue this endeavor of planting more trees and certainly ensuring utmost care of those trees.”
On this occasion the student council President Asmrita Das Roy also shared her viewpoints on the initiative, “ Our school has come up with an extremely thoughtful initiative- Tree Plantation on 75th Independence Day. The world needs such initiatives more often and in more numbers to save our planet Earth.”
As educators and facilitators for students, GEMS Modern Academy believe that it is their duty to bring in the change now so that green change becomes a way of life for all. They believe that ‘today’s learners are leaders and keepers of tomorrow’ and by that virtue, they will keep the planet clean, green and healthy.
