With the Old Delhi government considering skipping nursery admissions next school term in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, several parents waiting to enter their kids, under the reserved Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category, expressed concern saying that their wards may miss out on the chance to get “quality education”.

Amit Kumar who works in Lajpat Nagar aforementioned that her girl wasn't given admission by a private school despite her name was on the list issued by the Directorate of Education (DoE). “The school said they will solely take her after they get more general category admissions. Her admission is still pending. just in case she doesn’t get admission this year and therefore the enrollment method won’t happen next year what will she do until 2022? None in my family is educated to teach her at home. we can’t even afford to enroll her in the other school within the general class,” he said.
