The Delhi government just announced the launch of the Deshbhakti curriculum in the government schools of Delhi. This will be included in the school curriculum from the next academic session of 2021-22.
CM Arvind Kejriwal had first mentioned the Deshbhakti curriculum a day before Independence Day in 2019. He had then announced that it was to be included in the curriculum from the 2020 session for classes KG to 8. But then, the pandemic happened, and it had to be pushed back.
Now, after a meeting with the Education Minister Manish Sisodiya, the Deshbhakti curriculum has been duly reviewed and is ready to be incorporated into the school curriculum by the next session. “The biggest gap in our education system is that it seeks to deliver knowledge but not wisdom. Deshbhakti Curriculum shall strive to bring wisdom at the centre of education discourse,” the Deputy CM said.
