Delhi government lay down norms for coaching institution

Delhi government is looking into the governance and framing of guidelines for the regulation of private coaching centers. The government has asked the institution with an enrollment of more than 20 students to register themselves with the Directorate of Education.  

The government also asked to collect details of their infrastructure, basic facilities, land areas, safety standard, fees, etc. Yogesh Pal Singh, Delhi's Assistant Director of Education said that the tragic fire incident at the coaching center in Gujarat has drawn the attention of the government to formulate such safety guidelines for private coaching institutions.

The Delhi Development Authority had categorized the coaching center as an educational building bye-law this year.
