"St.Luke’s Day School was established as preparatory school in 1st January,1984 at its present location in presence of the renowned educationist and distinguished citizen of Naihati. The school is basically an outcome of a long cherished desire of the people of Naihati to have a good English Medium school, as there was no such school in the vicinity. The dream of such a school came to reality by the unison of two most well known cultured and educated families of West Bengal, one from the family of Lt. Mahamohopadhyay Haraprasad shastri, O.B.E., the great educationist and literature eminent linguist and the other from the family of Lt. Dr. Suresh Chakraborty, and eminent physician ,a renowned organizer and past president, Indian Medical Association . The school is situated at the prime location of Naihati, surrounded by green and clean environment, open terrace, temple etc. It is closed to Naihati Railway Station, Bus stand and Naihati Ferry Service. The school received permanent N.O.C. from the Department of Education, Government of West Bengal and the Affiliation from the Council of the Indian School Certificate Examinations ( ICSE ), New Delhi in 2004. We sent our first batch of ICSE students in 2006. Within this peroid of the school has achieved great success. The highest mark obtained till date is 98.2% in ICSE. We have maintained 100% pass rate from the beginning. In 2011, The school got upgraded to Indian School Certificate Examination (ISC ) with all three streams. We sent our first batch of ISC students in 2014 and the highest marks obtained is 95.75% and the pass ratehas been 100%. Presently, The school has 14 full fledged departments – English, Bengali, Hindi, History, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Education, Environmental Science, Commerce, Home Science, Computer Applications and Economics. Besides, this General Knowledge, Drawing, Socially use productive work, Physical Trainning and Karate classes are also part of the school curriculum. Each and every department is properly attained by subject kowledgeable teachers having requisite expertise and experience. We arealso thriving on Educational Tours,Annual Fete and Fair, Science and Technical Exhibitions, Environmental Awareness programmes, Seminars on First – Aid and Fire Safety, various competetion catering to literary, cultural and scientific aspects of life along with the rigorous academic discipline to have and all around development of our studies."
