Truly speaking to talk about my school is like talking about my own child. I feel that, as if I have given birth and nurtured it like my other children. In my early youth, while working as a teacher in a school, I realized many shortcomings that existed in the existed education system. I began to dream of having a school of my own. When girls of my age aspired for a secured and settled life, I took up a big challenge of starting a school of my own at a time when I had neither enough means nor manpower. The assets that I had were my courage, self confidence and whole hearted support of my parents Late Sri. Satpal Sethi and Late Smt. Bimla Sethi. My chief aim was to provide quality education at a very affordable rate to students from all categories irrespective of their social and economic background.
Finally my dream came true as in 1991, my school North Point Senior Secondary Boarding School under North Point Education Trust was established at Gorakshabasi Mandir Complex, Arjunpur. Subsequently, North Point Senior Secondary Boarding School, Rajarhat Branch was established on 42 bighas of land amidst beautiful landscape of Rajarhat in the year 2004. Arjunpur Branch is Day scholar whereas Rajarhat Branch is a Day – Boarding School having all the amenities that a modern boarding school should have. In the boarding school, a loving and caring environment is provided to make the boarders feel a home away from home.
In this long journey while fulfilling my dreams, I had to work alone facing stiff challenges and hurdles. Fortunately, I got support and co-operation of my dynamic Staff members, Students, Guardians and my family members. I always believed in a curriculum that would ensure all aspects of a child’s development – emotional, intellectual, moral, physical and social. This activity - oriented teaching approach should be imparted to the students in a spacious, open atmosphere quite close to the nature.

With this motto in our heart, North Point Senior Secondary Boarding School aims at not only just imparting knowledge to the students, but also inculcating in them- wisdom, compassion and a humanitarian spirit. Education is a tool which not only injects few subjects but also shapes us to be flexible and react to different situations in our life. Education teaches us about values in life; it makes us independent; encourages us to be innovative in our approach and gives us the ability of understanding others as well as ourselves.
Having multi-cultural student population, NPSSBS teaches children the importance of discipline, values and integrity. Children are ductile and can be moulded into a genius, a masterpiece and a bright star who can bring honour and fame to their own abode, their country and the big world. NPSSBS aims at holistic development of a child. Therefore besides rigorous scholastic programmes, we encourage all students to participate in a variety of co-curricular activities like sports and games, dance, singing, painting, drama, quiz and lot more. It is important for a child to explore and find their strength in order to reach their true potential. With such notion in mind and believing that real education cannot be restricted to only classroom teaching, we motivate students to think out of the box and understand the world around them that barricade them, thereby taking them outside for picnic, excursion, NCC camps, educational trips and social service activities that makes education an enjoyable experience. In the technology prevalent world of today, we continuously upgrade our teaching tools and techniques by introducing smart boards in every classroom. On one hand, where we are ameliorating ourselves, on the other hand we are also taking care of those students who come from the weaker section of the society. “Education is our birth right” and we believe in extending our hands and opening the doors to all who try to reach us irrespective of their financial status.
