This diary is intended to be used by students to record their school activities and homework. You are requested to refer to it to keep in touch with your ward’s progress from day to day. The homework should be done by the student, unaided by any tutors. The student is expected to tick each day’s work after doing the homework or reading and learning the work done in class, on the same day. You may guide your ward and help him/her out of certain difficult situations but spoon-feeding should be avoided. It is being emphasised in school that homework should be set on topics with which children are familiar and the unknown world should be explored in the class room with the teachers. This Almanac will establish liason between the teachers and the parents with regard to the quality of work being attempted by the student in the school and at home, his/her behaviour in school, regularity and punctuality. It will be good to remember that any comments made herein must refer only to the student’s work and conduct. The purpose will not be served if any criticism of the teaching methods or conditions at home enter these pages, bringing the home and the school at variance with each other. Such criticism can be conveyed in a separate letter addressed to the undersigned who will look into the matter.
