What’s the age criteria for Delhi school Admissions?

The admission season is just about to begin for a brand new school session and most parents have started gathering important information on the same. Age criteria are one eligibility rule that must be noted while seeking school admissions. 

The guidelines about the entry-level classes are released by the Directorate for Education(DoE), including the age criteria, as they make the marking process fair and ensure everyone in one age group has been given similar learning guidance. Age criteria also help parents have a better understanding of when to put them in school to ensure optimum holistic development.

Although the DOE is yet to announce age criteria for this year's admission, we have the age categories from the previous year's admission to help parents have an idea about possible age categories.

Here are the ages according to their standards:-

• Pre-primary or Nursery: 3-4 years
• KG/ Pre-primary: 4-5 years
• Standard I: 5-6 years
