The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education and West Bengal Board of Secondary Education are set to announce the methods on Friday for the evaluation of Higher Secondary and Madhyamik examinees. Chief minster Mamata Banerjee on Thursday said that the formulae for evaluation would be declared the next day while the grades would be published by July.
Earlier, the exams were cancelled after a six-member expert panel stated the pandemic situation. Thereafter, public opinion
was sought through e-mails, in which a majority of students and their guardians had also called for the cancellation of exams.
However, unlike the central boards, CISCE and CBSE, the state boards are facing a challenge as most of the 21 lakh students, who were to appear in the two board exams, have not been evaluated since January 2020.
