On Friday, Defense Secretary said that from academic session 2021 22, Sainik schools will have 27% seats reserved for other backward castes (OBCs).
The Sainik schools work under the Ministry of Defense. The Ministry of Defence manages is 33such residential schools in the country. The Defence Secretary posted the image of the circular that was sent to the principle of all Sanik schools across the country on its Twitter account.

According to the circular, 67% of the seats will be reserved for candidates from the states or union territories in which school is located and rest 33% will be for those candidates who come from outside that state or union territory. Around 15% of seats are reserved for SC, 7.5% ST and 27% seats for OBC candidates in Sainik School.
