Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh announced on Saturday that State Govt. Schools will not take any admission, re-admission, and tuition fee from the students for the academic session of 2020-21 on the account of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Chief Minister also declared interim admission in Class XI for 31,000 students of Class X in a distant learning system, who could not be promoted on the basis of internal assessment amid the COVID pandemic, as no such assessment prevails for them. To assure that their future should not get negatively affected, the state government has taken the decision to permit them provisional access to Class XI, but they have to appear for examination ns once the situation gets normal, he added.


These announcements were made during the edition of #AskCaptain on Saturday. The Chief Minister also declared a cash prize of Rs 5,100 each to 335 students scoring over 98 percent in Class XII.

"No School can remove students like this, " he ensured, in the response to a plea to help from a shopkeeper of Fatehguru Sahib whose daughter's name was struck off by the  School, due to non- payment of annual charges.
