List of States Reopening Schools from Feb 7

Many states including Punjab and Delhi have decided to reopen their schools for students starting Feb 7. 

The previous week states like  Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Rajasthan had reopened their schools for physical classes. 

Here is the list of States who have decided to allow physical classes this week, 

Delhi: Students of classes 9-12 can attend physical classes from Feb 7, whereas school for students from Nursery to Class 8 will reopen from Feb 14. 

Punjab: Schools, colleges, and universities can reopen starting Feb 7. However only students from 6-12 will be allowed to attend physical classes. 

Gujarat: Gujarat govt has allowed schools to reopen for classes 1-9. Online classes will continue such that students can join physical classes according to their convenience. 

Uttar Pradesh: The UP govt has decided to reopen schools for classes 9-12 starting Feb 7 citing a decrease in COVID cases in the state.

Kerala: Kerala schools and colleges have been allowed to reopen in phases. For classes 1-9, schools will reopen from Feb 14.

Odisha: Schools for classes 8-12 will reopen from Feb 7. Students in kindergarten to class 7 will be allowed to attend physical classes from Feb 14.

Bihar: Schools will be reopened with 100% capacity for classes 9-12. However, only 50% capacity has been allowed for class 8 by the Bihar government. 

West Bengal: West Bengal CM announced the reopening of educational institutions in the state from February 7. School for classes 8-12 will reopen, along with colleges, universities, and varsities. 

Many educators across the country have been vocal about reopening schools. The primary reason is the mental toll on students who have been worried about their preparation for the upcoming exams.
