On Thursday, an NGO demanded the waiver of the examination fees for class 10 and 12 CBSE students, moves Supreme Court. The fee waiver has been called for the students who are appearing for the board exams this academic year.

Amid the pandemic crisis, the NGO demanded the waiver for the fees with an aim to relaxing the financial strain on the students and their parents during these uncertain times.

The NGO, Social Jurist, appealed before HC on September 28, asking the AAP government and CBSE to take a decision within three weeks. The appeal further stated that due to the current situation, many parents have lost their jobs and it is very difficult for them to arrange money even for meals, let alone payment of CBSE examination fees.

The plea submitted to the supreme court after the HC’s order that rejected the appeal to relieve 30 lakh students, 3 lakhs from Delhi itself. The plea suggested that the center should pay fees from the PM Cares Fund.
