Primary Classes Academic Calendar was released by the Education or HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhriyal on 2nd July. This new academic calendar has been introduced for upper primary classes.

NCERT has developed this academic calendar which contains proper guidelines for educators on utilizing social media resources and technology for educational purposes. In addition, it has subject wise directions for a time duration of 8 weeks.

The launch was declared by the Education Minister on Twitter. He tweeted on his official Twitter Handle, "Alternative Academic Calendar for upper primary stage (Classes VI to VIII) for four weeks was released earlier. I have launched the academic calendar for the next eight weeks today, " He said, "The Calendar further aims to empower our students, teachers, school principals & parents with positive ways to deal with #Covid19 via online teaching-learning resources and achieve the best possible learning outcomes."
