One of the chief aims of the New Educational Policy 2020 is to make students patriotic, to shape them into ‘deshbhakts’. The ‘deshbhakti curriculum’ will be a part of the Delhi schools from the new academic session of 2021-22.

The Deshbhakti curriculum is ready to be incorporated into the school curriculum by the next session. “The biggest gap in our education system is that it seeks to deliver knowledge but not wisdom. Deshbhakti Curriculum shall strive to bring wisdom at the centre of education discourse,” Deputy CM Manish Sisodia had said.

The Delhi government has now let it known that patriotism will be discussed in Delhi schools for one hour every day to help transform the students into ‘kattar deshbhakts’- that’s the exact term CM Kejriwal used. The CM said, “Patriotism is not taught in our schools. We have decided to discuss patriotism every day for an hour in schools to make students ‘kattar deshbhakts’. We will also take teachings of Bhagat Singh and BR Ambedkar to every household.”
