The Delhi Government has finally decided to publicly release data on approvals of fee hike for private schools. The government had recently granted some unaided private schools to increase their fees. Fee hike permissions were given to only selected schools and the names weren't released earlier.
Parents of students in Delhi's private schools claimed that this information has been taken advantage of by private schools to increase fees without even being on the list for approval. This caused outrage in private schools and parents had decided to file a plea to the high court. The plea was filed by the organisation Justice for all on behalf of the parents. The plea stated that they wanted the government to realise the names of schools who were permitted so that other schools could not take advantage of fee hike notice.

Advocate Khagesh B Jha, who filed the case said that the fee hike approvals had to be handled by DOE which meant that the decisions should have been uploaded on their website. The government has now informed the Delhi High court that it has decided to publish the names of the schools and their fees hike structure after everything is finalised.
