Several civil society members such as doctors, book publishers, and grocery store owners have come forward to help government school students to pay their board exam fees of classes 10th and 12th. The last date to pay the board exam fees is 31st December.
CBSE had raised the board exam fees in 2019. The fees were increased from Rs 375 and Rs 600 for class 10th and 12 respectively. The Controller of Examination of CBSE had explained that it was necessary to raise the fees, as CBSE is a self-financing body and due to pandemic the expenditure to conduct the exam was likely to increase.
