On Friday, the Delhi Government honored 98 government and private school teachers for their contribution to school education.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said at the award ceremony that our education system got hit by the pandemic. And the school closures left everyone clueless regarding the teaching-learning during Covid-times. But our school teachers and principals stepped up to the occasion. And they showed so much determination in the situation.
The minister added that teachers went above and beyond their limits to ensure that children learn daily. And the teachers who did not know the usage of a smartphone equipped themselves with the knowledge of smartphones. So, their efforts are praiseworthy.
There were 69 awardees from Delhi Government schools, 18 from private schools, and 11 from Municipal Corporations of Delhi schools. The awardees comprise special educators, vocational teachers, music and art teachers, librarians, sports, and mentor teachers.
The Delhi government also awarded 11 teachers and officers for their commitment to executing the semi-online teaching and learning activities and Covid-relief work. And two special awards were also given to teachers doing work that is based on the observations of the Deputy Minister.
