Class 10th pass percentage raises by 10%

The past percentage of students of Delhi government schools who have cleared board exams this year rose from 98% to 99% in class 12 and 83% to 93% in class 10th after CBSE declared the results of the compartment exam this week.

In class 12th, 1290 out of 1734 students who took the compartment exams have passed while in class 10th 15574 out of 25400 students who took the class 10 compartment exams have passed. Last month physical exams were held for students placed in compartments. Only those students were allowed to take compartment exams who fail in one paper in class 12th and up to two papers in class 10th.

In an analysis, it was found that most class 10th students fail in science and mathematics or both. However, the Education Department was able to increase the pass percentage of class 10 students by 10% by taking regular classes of these subjects till compartment exams.
