The COVID-19 positive students who weren’t allowed to appear in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) are demanding a fresh date for a separate exam. The National Testing Agency (NEET) has looked into this matter and has assured the candidates that fresh exams would be conducted. However, with the ongoing delay in declaration of exam dates, students are concerned about losing an Academy year.

The infected candidates have been asked to submit the UG admit card and certificate from a competent authority in the support of his/her claim as a COVID-19 positive patient at http://ncov19@nta.ac.in.

What exam authorities have stated about the conduction of exams is that the number of students tested positive has not been ascertained yet which is leading to the delay in finalizing of dates and as soon as the dates are finalized, the exam would be conducted with proper health guidelines issued. Though they are yet to receive the notice for the exam dates.

A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) is being planned to be filed for the delay in announcing dates.
